We like to think of ourselves as the oasis in the forest. Trouble is, not
many people can ever remember where they are so to help you, here
are some jolly useful directions
From the A31 (Picket Post Junction)
Come off A31 at Picket Post, following signs for Burley. Continue
through Burley Street, then into Burley itself, minding the Ponies and
kamikaze Donkeys, before leaving the village up the hill, signposted to Brockenhurst, then passing the primary
school and cricket pitch (on your left). Continue on, watching out for
more Ponies, before dropping down into Holmsley, crossing a cattle
grid, then just after, turn right and The Station House is on your left.
Relax and join us for a cream tea.
From the A35 (Lyndhurst)
Come out of Lyndhurst, heading towards Christchurch on the A35. Pass
the crossroads for Rhinefield and the Ornamental Drive and continue
through the forest. After 3 or so miles, the road climbs onto one end
of Wilverley Plain, before dropping and crossing an old railway bridge.
Turn Left just after the bridge, signposted Burley, following the road
round to the left. At the t-junction, take another left, then after passing
under the railway bridge, take a left again. You’re now at the Station
House. Cappuccino anyone? Or maybe Lunch? We’re great at both!
From the A35 (Christchurch)
Come out of Christchurch and start following signs for Lyndhurst. Pass
through the Cat and Fiddle Junction, past the East Close Hotel and
towards the open forest. You’ll see a junction about 1 mile after the East
Close, ignore this as whilst it maybe signposed Holmsley, its the wrong
Holmsley. The A35 now straightens and heads deeper into the forest.
Continue, passing a junction on your right for Bashley, and also pass a
small junction shortly after to the left. The road then drops down, into
a dip, where there is yet another junction, signposted Burley. Turn left
here, and we’re a mere 50m on the right hand side. Congratulations,
you’ve made it.
